THE RANGE IS STILL OPERATING NORMAL HRS AND DAYS
RANGE OFFICER AND SAFETY TRAINING CONTINUES UNCHANGED
The Range requires earthworks in order to comply with the legislative requirements for the approval of rifle ranges. The following restrictions are effective IMMEDIATELY and will remain until advised by the Committee.
MAIN BENCHREST RANGE
- The Main bench rest range REMAINS OPEN for general use and sighting in using all target frames from 50 yard to 200 yard ONLY.
- There will be no displaying of, or shooting at targets at the 25yard target area.
- There will be no displaying of, or shooting at targets at the 300m and 500m target areas.
- Adjustable baffles will be required to be in the lowest position so as to prevent any rifle on the main range from being able to aim at any stop butt or target areas beyond the 200yard area.
- These restrictions will remain in place until the necessary range modifications are completed.
FIELD RIFLE RANGE/PISTOL RANGE/RF SILHOUETTE RANGE
- The RF Silhouette range area will be CLOSED until new timber shrouds and bullet catcher improvements are completed.
- FIELD RIFLE and PISTOL RANGE area is limited to 22LR in both rifle and pistol and Pistol is limited to 22LR and up to 9mm CF handgun cartridges ONLY.
- These restrictions will remain in place until the necessary range modifications are completed.
SHOTGUN RANGE
- The shotgun remains in operation with no changes and no extra restrictions.
The club has already started to organise the necessary equipment and specialists to commence these improvements. It is anticipated that the following time frames will occur:
- RF Metallic Silhouette should re-open later this year or early in the New Year.
- The main FIELD RIFLE and PISTOL RANGE should fully operational by early Feb 2025
- The 300m and 500m ranges are anticipated to be fully operational by Late March 2025.
Please be aware that these restrictions are necessary to remain operational whilst we undertake the necessary range improvements. In the near future we will provide more information and begin seeking volunteers for working bees.
